Irish boss Carla Ward said a second narrow loss to world-class opposition was tough to take as Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to France was followed by a similar reverse in Utrecht against the Netherlands.
“It’s tough to take, sickening really,” said Ward, whose side were undone by a late Courtney Brosnan error that allowed Lineth Beerensteyn to claim her second goal of the night eight minutes from time.
