Lightford, Castlebar, Co. Mayo and late of Bunmore, Ballycroy – retired primary school teacher, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Highfield Healthcare, Swords Road, Dublin, surrounded by her loving family on 7th March 2026.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Tony, parents John and Bridget and sister, Mary Bridget (Sister Paula) and brothers George, John and Paul.

Deeply regretted by her son Evin, daughter Derbhile, brothers Brendan and Michael, daughter-in-law Tania, partner Nicolas, treasured granddaughter Riley, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

May she rest in peace.

Josephine will repose in the Chapel of Highfield Healthcare, Swords Rd, Drumcondra, D09 H343 on Sunday (8th March) from 4pm-6pm, and Coady’s Funeral home, Castlebar, F23 XY63, on Wednesday, (11th March) from 5.30pm with removal at 7pm to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Requiem Mass on Thursday (12th March) at 11.30am. The Mass will also coincide with her late husband Anthony (Tony) McDonagh RIP, Months Mind Mass. Josephine will be laid to rest afterwards in Castlebar New Cemetery.
