National general inflation in Bangladesh rose to 9.13% on a point-to-point basis in February 2026, up from 8.58% from last month, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
This is the highest in 10 months since April 2025, when the inflation rate was 9.17%.
The latest increase was largely driven by a significant spike in food inflation, which climbed to 9.3% in February from 8.29% in January this year.

Non-food inflation also witnessed an upward trend, rising to 9.01% in February from 8.81% last month.
Despite the monthly rise, the current figures remain slightly lower than those recorded in the same period last year.
In February 2025, the general inflation rate stood at 9.32%, with food and non-food inflation at 9.24% and 9.38%, respectively.
