Jodie Ramsey is poised to make a fresh enemy on Coronation Street next week, whilst Sam Blakeman struggles to escape his past with Megan Welsh, and a funeral is set to provoke considerable emotions in Wetherfield. However, beginning elsewhere and at the flat, as Todd Grimshaw and Summer Spellman perform ‘Happy Birthday’ to Theo Silverton, he opens his gifts and appears distinctly unimpressed.
Subsequently, at the Bistro, Theo extends an invitation to Gary and Maria Windass to accompany him for his birthday meal, as Todd is delayed at work, and when he finally arrives in haste, Theo glares at him furiously. With the meal concluded, Theo presents Todd with the bill and insists they cover Gary and Maria’s expenses, but Todd awkwardly informs Nick Tilsley that he only has £80. Upon returning home, Theo accuses Todd of spoiling his birthday and demands that he fetch a bottle of wine. When Todd proposes coffee as an alternative, Theo erupts.

As the days unfold, Todd finds himself isolated in the flat, anxious that Theo might appear at any moment. At the funeral parlour, George receives yet another cancellation, leaving him increasingly on edge.
Down at the Rovers, George, Christina Boyd, Sarah Platt and James Bailey attempt to lift Todd’s spirits, but when Todd catches sight of Theo, he becomes overwhelmed and makes a swift exit. Theo pursues him, proposing they have a conversation, but shortly after, as James escorts an inebriated Todd home, Theo observes from the darkness.
Matters deteriorate further when Theo later overhears Summer informing George that James spent the night on the sofa. At Speed Daal, Theo notices Adam Barlow meeting with a client, and when Gary identifies her as Annie, the woman making fraud allegations against George, Theo spots an opportunity and approaches.
Subsequently, a downcast George listens whilst Todd and Christina read aloud fabricated online articles damaging his reputation. At the Rovers, Maggie Driscoll reads the same material and expresses concern that the pub’s reputation will suffer by connection.
Upon spotting George at the bar, Maggie brands him the neighbourhood fraudster and informs him he’s banned. However, when Todd and Christina spring to his defence, Maggie bars them as well.
Elsewhere, when a glamorous Amy Barlow announces that she and Ollie Driscoll are heading out on their first proper date, Lauren Bolton reacts with visible discomfort. Having observed this, as she delivers some beverages, she loses her footing and inadvertently drenches Amy. What will Ollie’s response be?
The incident appears to have passed without major repercussions, as the next day Amy’s thrilled following her evening with Ollie. Down at the Rovers, Ollie announces he’s taking Amy for dinner at Speed Daal later, much to the delight of Steve McDonald and Ben Driscoll.
However, despite her disapproval of Lauren’s relationship with Ollie, Maggie takes the barmaid aside and instructs her to head home, make herself look stunning and turn up at Speed Daal to remind Ollie what he’s lost. During the meal, Ollie and Amy appear to be enjoying themselves, but when Lauren arrives looking absolutely sensational, Ollie finds himself unable to look away.
Subsequently, after learning what happened, Ollie confronts Maggie for manipulating Lauren to wreck his date with Amy. However, Lauren confesses to Ollie that she genuinely cares for him and regrets their split.

Staying with Maggie, in upcoming scenes, Steve asks Ben to attend his father, Jim McDonald’s, funeral, confessing he needs emotional support, which makes Tim Metcalfe envious, as he points out that at least he actually knew Jim, unlike Ben.
When Ben mentions he’s accompanying Steve to Jim’s funeral to provide moral support, Maggie responds dismissively. Meanwhile, Steve feels anxious as he prepares to go, with neither Liz nor Andy attending, having distanced themselves from Jim years ago.
Elsewhere on the cobbles, David, the dog, relieves himself on Adam Barlow’s new vehicle, and the solicitor becomes incensed when Jodie doesn’t treat the matter seriously. In the café, Tracy Barlow spots the dog behind the counter and warns Jodie she’ll report her to environmental health.
Meanwhile, Adam proposes to Alya Nazir that they treat themselves for their dedication and arrange a holiday. Alya’s thrilled but upon receiving a text message, she’s visibly unsettled.
Elsewhere, Sam Blakeman reaches the bus stop and promptly vomits, leaving Leanne Battersby to rush him home. Leanne expresses her worries about Sam to Nick, saying she knows he’s anxious about his exams but suspects there’s something else going on.
Still troubled, Leanne confides in Megan Walsh that she’s worried about Sam and feels something is troubling him. Megan reassures her she’s fretting unnecessarily.
