Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (9 March), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street airs a horrifying reminder of what Theo Silverton is capable of tonight – as he grabs a kitchen knife during a heated row with his fiancé Todd Grimshaw. The villain causes more trouble as he spoils his own birthday by provoking an argument with Todd, who’s left shaken by his behaviour.
In ominous scenes this evening, Theo seems disappointed by the presents he receives from Summer Spellman and a cash-strapped Todd. Feeling slighted, Theo pretends to be grateful but it’s clear that he’s biding his time.
Later, Theo’s simmering resentment grows when Todd is late for his birthday meal at the Bistro. The scheming scaffolder also makes life awkward by ordering the most expensive items on the menu and inviting Gary Windass and Maria Connor to join them for some free food.

Todd is still struggling amid Theo’s financial control, so inevitably isn’t able to pay for the birthday lunch as promised. After manipulating the situation, Theo humiliates him by stepping in to cover it.
Back at the flat, Theo orders Todd to go out and get him a bottle of wine. Todd suggests a coffee instead, but Theo responds furiously by throwing the milk, coffee and mugs at him.
As a huge struggle follows, Theo grabs a kitchen knife and seems ready to strike.
“What are you going to do with that – are you going to stab me?” Todd asks. “Are you? Well, go on then, do it. Do you think I care anymore? Do you think I want to carry on like this? Go on, just put me out of my misery – do it!”

Taken aback, Theo drops the knife and heads out of the flat.
Corrie bosses have confirmed that Todd and Theo will be spending time apart following the latest heated showdown.
In upcoming scenes, Todd struggles with mixed feelings over Theo’s sudden absence from his life – illustrating how much he’s still under the villain’s control.
Theo is never far away, though – keeping a close watch on Todd as he goes about his business on the cobbles…
