Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale’s Graham Foster pulls the Tate family’s strings this week, as he meddles in the relationship between Joe and Kim.

Desperate to drive a wedge between the pair, and prove to Joe that his scheming step-gran is not to be trusted, Graham decides to play properly dirty to make his point…

“On the surface, it appears there’s no love lost between Graham and Kim,” begins our Emmerdale insider. “Although perhaps they’re both denying their true feelings, particularly Kim…

“As if their relationship wasn’t complicated enough, they’re also locked in a battle for Joe’s affections. A war is about to erupt in Home Farm, and there are bound to be casualties.”

Conflicted Kim claims to be over Graham, but there’s clearly unfinished business as she can’t help but feel heartbroken at her ex’s relentless pursuit of Rhona Goskirk.

Opening up to best friend Lydia Dingle, wounded Kim admits she knows Graham is no good for her, and vows to put her guard up. She simply won’t allow herself to get hurt – after all, the man is not worthy of the mighty Kim Tate.

Graham is pleased to realise he has Kim riled. His nose was put out of joint when Kim tried to turn Joe against him over his clandestine alliance with Cain, but Graham has just about managed to stay in Joe’s good books – for now.

“Joe despairs of Graham constantly trying to score points by dripping poison in his ear about Kim,” continues our source. “He tells his surrogate father figure to pack it in, but Graham is frustrated Joe can’t see Kim’s true colours. Let’s not forget she once tried to have them both bumped off!”

In the years Graham was lying low and pretending to be dead, Joe and Kim navigated betrayal on both sides and formed an unlikely alliance.

Despite his cocky front, Joe still craves Kim’s approval as head of the clan, but Graham is convinced she’s not to be trusted. How can he make Joe see the light?

“We all know how much Graham likes to win,” notes our spy. “He won’t be happy until he’s made Joe hate Kim’s guts, so the gloves are coming off. If there is a way to sabotage their relationship and bring about Kim’s downfall, Graham will find it…”

By the end of the week, Joe appears to be more receptive to Graham’s advice as to how to approach Kim. Will Graham tear the Tates apart from the inside?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
