New horrors are unleashed as the Man in Yellow returns in the From season 4 official trailer.
Ahead of From season 4’s premiere on April 19, IGN has released a new trailer, which reveals what the terrifying Man in Yellow has in store for the Township. Check out the trailer below:
The trailer teases the aftermath of From season 3’s twist-filled ending, in which the Smiley monster was reborn, the origins of the “Anghkooey” children were discovered, Tabitha and Jade’s past incarnations in the Township were uncovered, and Jim was killed by the Man in Yellow as punishment for the residents’ newfound knowledge. As the trapped characters confront their recent revelations, the Township also sends some horrifying new creatures for them to contend with.
In addition to showing a more inhuman look at From’s mysterious Man in Yellow, the trailer highlights new oversized doll creatures that have seemingly come to life from a child’s drawings or nightmare to attack the residents. One brief scene appears to show the residents digging up the rag doll-like monsters from a grave, teasing a disturbing backstory for the creatures.
These giant rag doll-like horrors join From’s existing slate of terrifying monsters, including the nocturnal killers who hunt them at night, the scary music box demon, and the unsettling kimono-wearing apparition who haunts Elgin. On the monster front, the trailer also teases that Victor and Henry will look deeper into the Man in Yellow’s past role in the Township, as they appear to dig up a drawing from Eloise featuring the entity near a car.
Among the most intriguing reveals in From season 4’s official trailer is the arrival of two new residents. MGM+ previously confirmed the casting of Julia Doyle as Sophia, “a sheltered and vulnerable pastor’s daughter,” with the latest footage now revealing her entrapment in the Township alongside a pastor, presumably her father.

The trailer also includes a surprising glimpse at Eion Bailey as Jim Matthews, appearing briefly as he hugs his son, Ethan. Since Jim was killed in From’s season 3 finale, it’s unclear whether his return is a nightmare created by the town to torment Ethan and the Matthews family, or could even be the real Jim returning at a different point in time. Since Julie has gained the power of being a “story walker,” giving her the ability to travel through time in the Township, Jim’s appearance could simply be from a past event.
MGM+ ends From season 4’s trailer with a montage of various characters streaming in terror throughout the upcoming episodes, emphasizing the dark horrors to come as they continue to piece together the puzzles of the Township. Returning to lead the next outing are Harold Perrineau as Boyd, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Tabitha, Hannah Cheramy as Julie, David Alpay as Jade, Elizabeth Saunders as Donna, Scott McCord as Victor, and Pegah Ghafoori as Fatima, among many others in the series’ expansive ensemble.
From season 4 premieres on MGM+ on April 19, with 10 total episodes lined up for the next outing. Ahead of the new episodes’ debut, From season 5 has yet to be renewed.
