A body has been found in an area of Galway, gardai have confirmed.
Gardai attended the scene on the R372 in Rossaveal on Monday, March 9. Garda officers closed off the road for some time before reopening it at around 3pm on Tuesday afternon, March 10.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana issued a statement to the Irish Independent which read: “Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man at Rossaveal, Galway on Monday, March 9.

“The man’s body has been transferred to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The results of the examination will determine the course of the Garda investigation. The Coroner has been notified.
“Enquiries are ongoing. No further information is available at this time.”
