Dublin Airport has continued to poke fun at Rangers’ penalty record after the defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox.

Celtic beat Rangers after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win sent Martin O’Neill’s side into the semi-final at Hampden against St Mirren.

Dublin Airport took a wee dig at Rangers just after the full time whistle blew when they posted on social media about finding the balls from James Tavernier and Djedi Gassama on their runway after they ballooned their efforts over the bar.

And it seems one person took serious offence to the joke, but Dublin Airport were not going to be browbeaten.

You can pick any Celtic player from history to take a penalty to win a game…

Who do you pick and why?

A Rangers fan took offence to the light-hearted tweet and replied to Dublin Airport. But their response was just first class.

The post on X said, “Ah Jimbo, don’t take it to heart. I suppose we just expected them to be a bit better at penalties. Given how many they seem to get.”

The tweet went viral and garnered a response from a Celtic supporter who wanted the airport to move to Celtic, to which they replied, “We don’t fancy a loan.”

It’s a great piece of comedic banter that lifts the gloom from all the negativity that surrounded the Celtic result after Rangers fans stormed the Ibrox pitch.

If only the blue half of Glasgow had a sense of humour.
