An urgent recall has been issued for certain Tower air fryers after a potential fire hazard was discovered.
Owners are being urged to check whether their appliance is one of the affected models, and if so, to stop using it immediately and unplug it.
Last year, Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued a recall for four Tower air fryer models. The latest announcement adds two more, bringing the total to six models subject to a recall.
The affected air fryers were manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023. Tower air fryers are sold widely across Ireland through retailers and online platforms including the Tower Houseware website.
The UK’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said: “The product presents a risk of fire as it can overheat and ignite during use. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
“The product has been recalled from end users. Owners of affected products should stop using the product immediately and unplug it.
“For further information, including checking if your product is affected and registering your product for a refund or replacement, please access the Tower Housewares webpage: https://www.tower-safety.co.uk.”
In a statement, Tower said “your safety is out top priority” and encouraged anyone with the affected air fryers to fill out a form on its website.
It added: “We recently identified a potential issue with certain Tower air fryer models and are conducting a voluntary recall to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.”

Customers will need to upload a photo of the rating label and provide their email, telephone number and address to confirm if their appliance is part of the recall. They will then receive instructions for a refund or replacement.
A spokesperson added: “Cease use and check whether you own one of the affected air fryer models. You can check this by accessing the model number on the appliance rating label. If you own an affected model we’re here to make the process as simple as possible.”
