Plans for a €20.3m, 116-bedroom hotel on the Murrough in Wicklow town have been pushed back, after the developer secured a change to a planning condition that they say was making the project unworkable.

The original condition stated that none of the 44 phase‑two seaside homes could be occupied until the hotel was fully built and ready to open. The developer argued this restriction would make the overall scheme financially unviable, and the condition has now been removed.
