A witness has denied seeing a neighbour who was killed in an “almost indescribably savage” way moments earlier using a metal pole to beat “the s**t out” of the man accused of his murder.
Declan Forde gave evidence in the trial of Liam O’Leary (33), who has pleaded not guilty to the murder of John Casserly (58) at Mr Forde’s apartment in Tone House, Tone St, Ballina, Co Mayo close to midnight between October 23 and 24, 2024.
