George Clarke has been declared love by his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars after he made an emotional TV appearance where he spoke candidly about his mum’s health battles.
George, who competed in the 2025 run of the BBC One dance contest alongside professional dancer Alexis Warr, opened up about his ‘incredible’ mum’s battle with her health that left her with a 20 percent chance of survival, and now is now facing a cancer battle.
The YouTube and TikTok star is keen to use his platform to raise awareness of encephalitis and appeared on This Morning on Thursday (March 12) to talk about it.
“She was in hospital for three or four months at first and was put into an induced coma,” he explained, after sharing that he found his mum having a seizure as he, then 16 was heading to hockey practice. “She was in that state for I think about a week and a half.”
When Ben Shephard asked how quickly he mum was diagnosed with a brain inflammation called encephalitis, George shared: “My dad kind of had to sort of say, ‘Can we please look at my wife,’ because um initially the symptoms aren’t obvious. But he just sort of had a gut feeling something was wrong…”

It comes after George also revealed his mum’s cancer diagnosis while appearing on Strictly last year, as he dedicated a dance to her and their family. “Unfortunately, recently my mum got diagnosed with cancer,” he shared at the time. “Nobody deserves what she has gone through, but least of all her. It has just taken up so much of her life now.”
Following his This Morning appearance, a clip of the chat was shared on Instagram where his Strictly pals and fans were quick to show support, starting with Vicky Pattison who gushed: “Love you so much son… so proud of you.” Ellie Goldstein shared a heart and raising hands emojis in the comments section, while his sister, Emily, was also spotted sharing: “Couldn’t be prouder of you! Lucky to have such an amazing & inspirational family.”
