ALDI’s Tallaght Cross “Project Fresh” store has welcomed customers back today after an extensive refurbishment project.

Over a million euro was invested to completely revamp the store interior. The makeover includes a brand new in-store bakery.

ALDI has started installing in-store bakeries at selected stores, including the updated Tallaght Cross store, offering a full range of Irish-baked breads and pastries delivered daily. The new Project Fresh layout also introduced a fresh herb stand and a health and beauty section.

The updated Tallaght Cross store boasts a new layout, featuring a selection of fresh food at the front of the store and high-spec fixtures and fittings throughout. Built with the customer in mind, the new layout aims to highlights the products customers know and love while discovering new ranges.

Speaking at the reopening, Jonathan Graham, ALDI Tallaght Cross Store Manager said: “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers. The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop, allowing customers to shop with ease.”

“We are also thrilled with the addition of a brand-new bakery. In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in ALDI.”

The Tallaght Cross outlet is firmly embedded within the local area and takes part in ALDI’s nationwide collaboration with FoodCloud, contributing excess food to community charities daily. So far, ALDI’s Dublin outlets have contributed nearly 764,000 meals via FoodCloud, representing over 1 million kgs of CO2 emissions prevented.

ALDI’s Tallaght Cross outlet is also included in ALDI’s Community Grants scheme, with Irish Sepsis Foundation and LauraLynn amongst the area charities that have gained from the programme in recent years.

The refurbished Tallaght Cross outlet has also undergone a CO2 upgrade, resulting in more eco-friendly refrigerants being used throughout the premises. ALDI’s complete store portfolio now running on 100% wind-generated electricity.

ALDI is dedicated to backing its Irish supplier network and expanding the range of Irish products on its shelves. ALDI presently partners with over 330 Irish suppliers and has put more than €11.5M into its Grow with ALDI supplier development programme since 2018, which provides emerging artisan Irish food and drink producers the opportunity to have their products stocked in ALDI’s 166 shops.
