Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed Cain Dingle’s next move following a major show shake-up that saw his wife, Moira, sign over the rights to Butler’s Farm. In this week’s episodes, Moira agreed to sign the farm over after making a deal with Kim.

It was subsequently confirmed that Joe would hand the reins to Robert Sugden and his partner Aaron Dingle. Cain wasn’t best pleased when he heard this, but he agreed to let the matter slide given his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Viewers know that Moira, who is currently in prison, made the deal without telling Cain. After finding out that Moira had handed over the farm, Cain is determined to find new land in order for Moira to continue her farming career.

In scenes set to air next week on the ITV soap, a reticent Cain makes the decision to move in with the Dingles after the sale goes through. With Robert and Aaron set to move in and begin their work as tenant farmers, Cain doesn’t feel like celebrating his fresh start.

It’s a sad day for Cain as he moves out, taking one last souvenir as he leaves. As Robert awkwardly moves in, he immediately offers Matty a job. Later that morning, Cain is feeling down as he arrives at the Dingle Homestead with his boys, who are also unsettled by the move.

Cain immediately resolves to build a new ‘Dingle Farm’. The Dingles are determined to put everything they have into this plan for Cain and the boys, but it remains to be seen if it will pay off.

Meanwhile, at Butler’s, Robert is touched to see that Aaron has repaired the ‘Emmerdale Farm’ sign for him. The pair reflect on the ‘Sugden’s Reboot’ as they begin a new chapter together.

Speaking about the move, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: “The Sugdens have always been at the centre of our village, having been the original farming family when Emmerdale was first created.

“This return to the farm’s roots is a powerful moment, echoing the early drama that unfolded when Annie Sugden and her sons, Jack and Joe, farmed the land. Taking over the tenancy, grandson Robert wants to do his best and make his dad proud.

“With his loyal partner Aaron, they are ready for this new chapter and committed to making the farm thrive. Farming remains a vital presence in Emmerdale, providing a daily dose of excitement and fresh air for our audience.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
