Conor McGregor has been mocked after posting a bizarre message about the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the ongoing conflict involving the USA, Israel and Iran.

The USA and Israel began bombing Iran on February 28. Iran responded by attacking neighbouring countries in the Gulf viewed as working with the Americans and Israelis.

Iran has attacked Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE.

Ex-UFC fighter, McGregor, who spends a lot of time with his family in Dubai, took to social media on Saturday to post a bizarre message about the attacks on the UAE. The message was posted along with a photograph of a topless McGregor on horseback in the desert outside Dubai, which is the most populated city in the UAE.

“Anyone who attacks the UAE, and for not one reason at all, is a mortal enemy to the McGregors,” wrote McGregor on X.

The response to McGregor’s message was instantaneous with thousands of people mocking him. Some people described him as an “embarrassment to Ireland” and said his message was “total cringe”.

“Conor you’re making a complete fool out of yourself,” wrote one Irishman. “An embarrassment to Ireland, Irish people and Irish history,” he added.

Another person joked: “What are you ganna do? Challenge Iranian missiles to an MMA match? Lol go to sleep you corny dork.”

Another Irish person said: “Conor, this is total cringe. Why are you tweeting about a foreign country? Whatever happened to Ireland-first?”

However, the reaction wasn’t all negative as some people thanked McGregor for supporting the UAE.

“Your solidarity means a lot to us,” said one man from Dubai. “The UAE will always welcome you and millions from around the world with open arms. Respect like this is always appreciated and remembered! Much love to Ireland and to all the McGregor fans who stand with us,” the man added.
