Ahead of Daffodil Day this Friday, award-winning milliner and influencer Jennifer Wrynne shares her journey with breast cancer. Less than a year on from her diagnosis, she recalls her initial reaction and dealing with treatment, all the while trying to keep a sense of calm for her four kids

Jennifer Wrynne was 10 weeks postpartum from the birth of her fourth child when she found a lump in her breast. It was the day after Amelia-Rose’s christening in June 2025, and the new mum was in the shower, preparing for a trip to the hospital later that day for her baby’s two-month injections. “I wasn’t particularly looking, it was just rubbing the shower gel on my breast and I could feel it. But because I was so early postpartum, I didn’t in any way get alarmed.”
In hospital with her daughter, she mentioned the lump she had discovered, just in case. “And it was actually the nurse who was immediately, like, ‘Oh, let me have a look at this.’”
