One teen has been arrested and another was hospitalised after a serious incident in Cork city early this morning.

Emergency services rushed to a location in Blackrock at around 1am, after what is understood to have been a stabbing. An adult male aged in his teens was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of his injuries, while a male juvenile was detained. He is being held today at Garda Station in the Cork city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984

A Garda spokesperson told CorkBeo: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackrock, Cork city on Sunday 15th March 2026 shortly before 1:00am.

“An adult male (aged in his late teens) was conveyed Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries. A male juvenile was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in the Cork city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

Investigations are ongoing.
