Ireland’s Oscar nominees and film industry heavyweights from both sides of the Atlantic continued California celebrations on Friday of the island’s global film success with a brunch reception at a swanky West Hollywood restaurant organised by the LA Consulate and Screen Ireland.
Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy TD addressed attendees from the steps of the outdoor courtyard at Ysabel’s, owned by Dean McKillen – son of developer Paddy McKillen – sheltering under fairy-light-wrapped trees on a sunny day that reached 32 degrees. Guests sipped on mimosas and sampled brunch delicacies like short rib hash and individualised avocado toast as nominees posed together for a photo in the space.
