Fifty-six years ago, Trinity College Dublin students managed to organise an exhibition of the artist Pablo Picasso’s works in Dublin. National Gallery of Ireland (NGI) curator of modern art Janet McLean marvels at the students’ feat, given the work she and her colleagues have put in over the past three years to prepare Picasso: From the Studio, which opens in the gallery next month.

Described as a major monographic exhibition of Picasso’s work spanning 50 years, the exhibition is being hosted by the gallery in collaboration with the Musee National Picasso-Paris.
