I may have been overzealous in my culling of the Herefords when we went into dairying and now it’s come back to bite me

Don’t tell my grandmother, but I’m turning our stock bull into burgers for the farm shop. If she finds out she’ll have a conniption that I’ve turned the five star pure-bred Hereford bull from one of our best cows into a sacrificial lamb – or bull – to attempt to appease the appetite for beef in the farm shop.

In my defence, I’ve got his full younger brother who is ready and willing to fill his big brother’s shoes for the coming breeding season and I don’t need a strong bull for our tiny dairy and beef herd.
