Brooklyn Beckham‘s wife Nicola Peltz has told his godfather Elton John and David Furnish that she and her husband “love you both so much” amid their ongoing feud with the amateur chef’s family.
After snubbing Mother’s Day, Brooklyn and Nicola enjoyed a date night at Elton John’s Oscars viewing party. The singer and his husband David host the party every year to raise money for the AIDS Foundation. They were joined by several high profile faces, including Neil Patrick Harris, the Osbournes and one of his godsons Brooklyn.
After the night, Nicola took to Instagram to share her gratitude and love for Elton and David. She wrote: “What a beautiful evening for such an important cause. Thank you for having us @eltonjohn and @davidfurnish we love you both so much.”

This comes after Nicola and Brooklyn cut ties with his entire family. The couple and the Beckhams have been caught in a family feud for months, but the feud exploded after Brooklyn posted a six-page statement to Instagram where he insisted that he had no desire to reconcile with his family and accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of trying to control him and sabotage his marriage.
Prior to the statement, Brooklyn snubbed many big family events, including his father’s 50th birthday. He also did not invite the Beckhams to his vow renewal, choosing instead to highlight his in-laws, the Peltz’s.
Following the severing of relations, it was reported that Elton has been acting as ‘mediator’ between the Beckhams, and spoke to Brooklyn last year in attempt to patch things up between him and his parents.
A source said at the time: “Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short – to patch things up.” The source added Elton is ‘adamant he doesn’t want to stick his nose in’ the feud, he just simply ‘wants peace’.
“Elton of old may have relished in taking sides – in this case his young godson, Brooklyn – but two years off his 80th birthday, he’s a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy. There is no side-taking as such; he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour. He wants to look after them in his role as ‘spiritual adviser’ as a godfather, it’s a role he takes seriously.”

Despite Elton’s efforts, Mother’s Day appeared to be no different, as Brooklyn stayed silent about his own mother, despite posting a very gushing statement about his mother-in-law Claudia Heffner Peltz the day before.
To celebrate Claudia’s 71st birthday, Brooklyn shared pics of himself with Claudia and Nicola to social media with the caption: “Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law. Love u so much and hope u had the most amazing day.”
While Brooklyn may have cut ties with his family – and some family friends, as he recently unfollowed Gordon Ramsay on social media – he has remained on good terms with Elton. The Rocketman singer is Brooklyn’s godfather, as well as being godfather to the former photographer’s estranged younger brother Romeo. Eva Longoria is godmother to the other two Beckham children, Cruz and Harper.
Brooklyn showed off his good relationship with Elton by attending his Oscars party, but he was not the only famous face there. This year, Elton and his husband were joined by several celebs such as actor Neil Patrick Harris, former Love Island star Maura Higgins, and Jack and Sharon Osbourne, who donated a Corvette to the auction that also took place.
Singer Yungblud also turned up to the party, as did fellow musician Dua Lipa. Dua, who wore a figure-hugging blue dress, was joined by her fiance Callum Turner. Messy singer Lola Young was also there as she was performing at the party. Explaining why she was there, Lola explained: “It’s been incredible getting to know Elton and David, and I’m grateful for the support they’ve show my music.”
She said, adding that performing “feels like a special moment in today’s world “. Their work to support communities who need it most is so important to me,” the Grammy winner continued, “and I’m proud to be part of a night that helps make a meaningful impact.”
The party, which took place in West Hollywood, features an auction, where the stars attending can bid for different items with the money they spend going to Elton’s charity the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The Foundation aims to end HIV and AIDS stigma and puts money towards expanding testing, prevention and treatment across the world.
