A duo comprising a porn star and a housewife emerged victorious on Channel 4 show Handcuffed – after a hectic finale inspired by Race Across The World.

Hosted by Jonathan Ross, the show featured 18 contestants handcuffed to a total stranger in a bid to win £100,000 between them.

All of these nine pairs were polar opposites, meaning they would have to co-exist to reach the end.

The final episode saw presenter Jonathan, 65, bring the remaining duos to Loch Lomond for a ‘Mr and Mrs’ style quiz to determine who knew each other best.

Meanwhile, the top three pairs – Charlie and Rob, Tilly and Anthony and Morag and Angie – then faced off in a handcuffed race from Scotland, to Wales and on to London – with only a train ticket, no money and no phones.

Rob, 32, a porn star and Charlie, 44, a housewife, ultimately overcame the odds to be crowned as champions.

Discussing the victory, Rob said: ‘I felt relieved! I felt like all the hard work between me and Charlie had finally paid off.

‘All the hours of compromise, all the hours of respect, all the hours of communication had finally come to a close where we had won something together as a team.

‘It felt like winning with my older sister!’

Charlie commented: ‘It was such a tight race and I really didn’t know that we were going to win.

‘It definitely wasn’t in the bag. I was stunned, then really excited. It was a tough final.’

Addressing how it felt to finally be uncuffed, Rob reflected: ‘It felt great! I just wanted to shout “FREEDOM” at the top of my lungs.

‘It was a nice moment, but also a little sad moment knowing that my partner has now got to go.’

Charlie said: ‘It was a huge relief. We actually had to wait quite a long time!

‘It wasn’t like we were instantly un-handcuffed. It was a crazy experience but a huge relief. It took a while to get used to doing things on my own, but that’s maybe because I was very overtired.’

Furthermore, Rob admitted his eyebrow-raising first thing he wanted to after being uncuffed.

He disclosed: ‘Being in the porn industry I tend to have a w**k at least once a day.

‘That was probably the first thing on my priority list.’

Revealing how they each plan to spend their respective £50,000, Charlie said: ‘I have been able to fund my new book, which has been a dream.

‘I’m going to invest some of the rest of it. Some of it will also be going to charity. And I’ll be taking the family on holiday!’

Rob said: ‘One of the first things I’m going to do is a huge Costco run of food and drink and go out with Tilly to feed the homeless.

‘I was very inspired watching what she did on the programme – I’d like to do a few acts of kindness.

‘I’m also going travelling round South East Asia and investing in a new business. And then I’ll put the rest in savings for a rainy day.’

Earlier in the series, tensions began to fray as the pair’s handcuffed situation meant they had to shower together.

Despite initially getting on well, Rob and Charlie, a self-confessed ‘massive prude’, nearly crashed out of the competition.

The married mother put on a large yellow blindfold as Rob stepped into the shower behind her, with Charlie admitting she was ‘so nervous’ and feeling sick.

She turned her back on Rob as he scrubbed his body, leaving his shorts on, as she admitted: ‘I don’t even like my husband seeing me with nothing on.’

Before Rob had explained what he did for a living, the pair had been getting on well as they spent time together in Charlie’s family home in Sussex.

However, things took a sudden downward spiral as Rob decided to open up on his career path, leaving Charlie nearly choking on her drink over lunch.

The adult content creator said: ‘I know she’s got to tell her husband [about his job as a porn star] and stuff and that’s probably going to be a tricky situation.’

Charlie explained: ‘It was quite tough when I discovered what Rob does… and it’s really just having him here in my home like with my family around.’

Rob was then introduced to Charlie’s husband, Simon, off-camera – where Rob decided to explain to him what he did for a living.

And things went from bad to worse, as Simon began shouting he was ‘f**king furious’ about the prospect of having ‘sleazy’ Rob in their home.

Simon said: ‘ I’m just not comfortable with this, I f**king don’t think I can do this, it’s giving me palpitations I’m f**king sick of it.

‘That sort of world that your in… it’s sleazy and so to bring that into our family home is a challenge and there’s a side of me that’s absolutely f*****g furious.’

‘I think it’s f**king disgusting, grim, hideous,’ Charlie could be heard adding.

Simon then broke down in tears as his wife explained she felt ‘sick’ and ‘anxious’ over the situation, with Charlie adding: ‘I need to put my family first.’

Rob respectfully hit back: ‘I do what I do to provide for my family… I’d like you to stay in the competition but I understand if you have to put your family first.

‘It’s s**t, it’s f**king s**t because I wanted to win this competition.’

Fortunately, the pair managed to overcome their differences to claim the big money prize at the end.
