Married At First Sight Australia is in full swing with 18 hopeful singles once again meeting for the first time at the altar.

In true MAFS style, there has already been plenty of drama, with one groom’s awkward blunder leaving his bride waiting alone on their wedding day as well as two brides going head to head in awkward scenes at the first dinner party.

And the tension is set to continue this week as the hit E4 dating show brings a never before seen twist to test the couples. Each married couple will soon take part in Revelations Week, a task set to expose hidden truths and see if it brings the two together, or drive them further apart.

But what is Revelations Week? Here’s all we know.

The men and women will once again be split up into workshops as they take part in a selection of challenges in the hopes of encouraging deeper conversations.

Relationship expert John Aiken told TV WEEK: “It’s a new twist that we get the men and women to break up into workshops and we look at red and green flags, and get them to be honest about their partners and give feedback.

“For some, it’s very helpful, but for others it’s very, very problematic.”

He added: “Does it bring them closer to their partner or divide them away from what they’re there for? Well, that is the big question that you will be asking yourself as you watch, because a number of them don’t have a lot of insight.”

During last night’s explosive episode (Tuesday, March 17), viewers were given a sneak peek into what’s to come at the start of Revelations Week and there is plenty of chaos.

A voiceover teased: “Next time, in its 13th season, the experiment launches a brand new phase.”

It continues: “Over two massive nights, Revelations Week will expose our couples’ deepest secrets… Never before seen tasks will test group dynamics. The photo ranking returns with mixed results and as connections deepen, cracks form for the self proclaimed power couple.”

In explosive clips, Gia can be heard admitting: “I feel a bit sick.”

Cutting to Brook, who is married to Chris, she was seen watching his audition tape on a tablet before the camera cuts to her telling Chris some uncomfortable truths.

She said: “If I saw that at the beginning I would not have given you a chance… I’m a little icked.”

The challenges include the photo ranking challenge as well as the cast discussing red and green flags.
