Longford woman Maura Higgins had a particularly thrilling Saint Patrick’s Day, walking the red carpet of A24’s The Drama, and chatting with leading lady Zendaya about her status as a “fashion icon”.
At the LA premiere, the Traitors star asked Zendaya about her red carpet look- a beautiful Vivienne Westwood gown – which led to a conversation about the ‘method’ or ‘theme’ dressing that she and stylist Law Roach are famed for.

The Drama, a romantic black-comedy-drama film written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, centres around a wedding, which has led to some beautiful bridal looks for Zendaya’s red carpet appearances.
“The saying is, ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,’ she told Higgins. “So I started with something old – this is a dress that I wore when I was 18 years old to the Oscars, actually, my very first Oscars.”

“It was a very important moment for me in my life and my career, but also for my family, for my folks,” she continued. “That moment meant a lot to me, so this felt like the right time to bring this one out of the archive. And also, it happened to be a wedding dress, so that worked out too!”

Higgins wore a backless dress from Vietnamese designer Do Long for the occasion.
Stylist Kris Fe chose the velvet, leather and mesh creation from the brand’s recent ‘Emerge’ collection, with the dress featuring a halter-neck silhouette, hip cut-out details, and a long mesh skirt.
