A man is to stand trial accused of urinating on a woman’s clothing, stealing her underwear and harassing her.
Christian Blanc appeared at Falcarragh District Court on eight separate charges.
The 59-year-old French national is now to stand trial before Letterkenny Circuit Court.
All of the alleged offences occurred at the same property at Ballintemple, Falcarragh.
He is charged that on May 4th, 2025, he entered the building as a trespasser and damaged a mattress and bed clothes by urinating on them.
The charge is Contrary to Section 12(1) b and 3 of the criminal Justice Theft and Fraud Offences Act, 2001.
On April 24, 2025, at the same address, Blanc is charged with urinating in laundry baskets.
He is charged with the same offence two days later at the same address.
The accused is also charged that on April 28th, 2025, at the same address, he urinated on a couch and an armchair.
Two days later, Blanc is charged with urinating on a bed and on a basket of towels at the same address.
The following day, May 1st, the accused is charged with urinating on a bed and a throw.
He is also charged with stealing a woman’s underwear from the same address.
Blanc is finally charged that between February 21st, 2025 and May 4th, 2025, he harassed a woman at Ballintemple, Falcarragh.
The charge is Contrary to Section 10(1) and 9 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 as substituted by Section 23 of the Criminal Justice Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023.
Garda Inspector Johnny Sweeney told the court the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for trial by indictment and that he could be sent forward for sentence on a signed plea should this emerge.
Solicitor for the accused, Mr Patsy Gallagher, said that the charges occurred on various dates, they were all of a similar type of incident.
He suggested the case be adjourned for the service of a book of evidence to June 17th next.
Legal aid was granted and Mr Gallagher asked if disclosure in the case could be translated into French for his client.
