“One Battle After Another” is headed to shelves. Warner Bros. announced that the film, which took home best picture on Sunday night, will be released as a collectible 4K UHD steelbook on June 2, arriving with a slate of new bonus features and behind-the-scenes materials curated by writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson.
The film was the night’s biggest winner at the Oscars, racking up six total wins including best picture, best director for Anderson, best supporting actor for Sean Penn, best adapted screenplay, best editing and best casting. The project also marked a major awards season moment for its ensemble, led by Leonardo DiCaprio alongside Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and breakout Chase Infiniti.
‘One Battle After Another’ 4K Blu-ray Steelbookm
Written, directed and produced by Anderson, “One Battle After Another” is based off of the novel “Vineland” by Thomas Pynchon, which follows a washed-up, paranoid former radical (DiCaprio) living off the grid with his daughter (Infiniti) until a long-dormant enemy (Penn) resurfaces, setting off a frantic search that forces both father and daughter to confront the fallout of his past.
The steelbook release, available June 2 from major retailers, packages the film in 4K UHD and Blu-ray alongside a dedicated bonus disc featuring new materials produced by Anderson, including camera, lighting and costume tests, a screen test from Infiniti, and a feature-length “making-of” documentary. Additional extras include a deep dive into the editing process and footage from the film’s opening night at the Vista Theatre, plus a 24-page booklet of behind-the-scenes photography.
