A new firmware update version 3.7.0.8 is rolling out to Amazfit Active 3 Premium with a 16.40MB package size. It brings changes to lactate threshold tracking along with tweaks to workout ordering.

Lactate threshold gets pushed forward

The mention of lactate threshold optimisation stands out straight away, especially as auto detection is now enabled by default. That suggests Zepp Health is pushing this metric more aggressively.

Lactate threshold has been creeping into more consumer wearables over the past couple of years. It marks the intensity point where your body starts accumulating lactate faster than it can clear it, which is usually where effort shifts from sustainable to hard. In practical terms, it helps define your optimal training zones.

This update hints at Zepp Health’s growing confidence in the underlying algorithm. You do not enable something like this by default unless you believe the data is reliable enough for general use. However, we are still yet to see it on any other Amazfit device. Hopefully it will come via firmware updates. Hardware-wise, probably any of the recent Amazfit watches can support the metric.

Amazfit Active 3 Premium Hybrid training moves up the list

The second change probably reflects usage patterns. If more people are selecting hybrid style sessions, it makes sense to surface it earlier. It reduces friction and nudges users toward that mode.

Hybrid training itself has been gaining traction as people mix strength and cardio in the same session. Traditional watch interfaces often struggle with that because they are built around single activity types. Moving this option higher suggests Zepp Health is adapting to how people train rather than forcing them into rigid categories.

Amazfit Active 3 was only released a few weeks ago. It comes across as a blend of Active Max and Active 2. We have just started testing it so keep an eye out for our review in the weeks to come.
