The Madisonhas been marked as a major departure for Taylor Sheridan, who focuses on themes of grief and family in the new Paramount+ series. While the drama is not related to the Yellowstone universe, fans may have noticed a familiar face in episode 6 when Dawn Olivieri made a memorable appearance.

Spoilers Ahead

Episode 6 of The Madison finds the Clyburn family back in Manhattan after burying Preston (Kurt Russell) and Paul (Matthew Fox) in Montana. Stacy (Michelle Pfeiffer) and her daughters attempt to return to their regular lives as they grieve the loss of their family members.

Paige (Elle Chapman) returns to work, where she’s summoned into her boss’s office. Her boss, Ellen, is portrayed by Dawn Olivieri. The conversation begins with Ellen telling Paige, “I know exactly how you’re feeling,” before explaining that her father is very much alive and competing in triathlons. After awkwardly comparing notes on their feelings for sharks, Ellen tells Paige she’s “just a blonde ball of wit.”

“I want you to know, Paige, we care about you here,” Ellen continues. “If you feel like you have more time to grieve, you just tell us and we will give it to you…as soon as fashion week is over.”

If Dawn looks familiar, there’s good reason. Dawn portrayed femme fatale Sarah Atwood in 10 episodes of Yellowstone. She starred as the Market Equities attorney who manipulates Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) into destroying his family.

Dawn returned to the Yellowstone universe as Claire Dutton, sister of Jacob and James, in 1883. Her character suffered a series of losses before taking her own life. The actress also appeared as Amber Whelan in Taylor Sheridan’s The Lioness.

Her role in The Madison isn’t listed on Dawn’s IMDB page, but she teased her cameo on Instagram. Fans flooded her with comments. One wrote, “I was screaming when you appeared @dawnolivieri ❤️” and another commented, “I knew it!! lol. I told my husband- I think she was in Yellowstone. I looked at your IMDb profile and it didn’t have The Madison listed! Great job!!”

While Paramount+ hasn’t made an official announcement about the show’s future, Kurt Russell has said that filming for a second season has already been completed. But it’s unlikely that Dawn will return to her role. After their conversation, Paige overhears her coworkers talking about her father’s death and punches one of them, resulting in her firing.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for Dawn’s next role.
