Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (23 March), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
Coronation Street kicks off a big week for Theo Silverton and Todd Grimshaw tonight as they reunite in worrying scenes.
Theo’s latest round of scheming pays off as he exploits Todd in a vulnerable moment, slyly positioning himself as his ex-boyfriend’s biggest supporter.
In sad scenes, Todd misses the marathon that he’s trained so hard for after being sabotaged by Theo, who spiked his drink at the Bistro and turned off his phone alarm so that he’d sleep in.

When he finally wakes up, Todd doesn’t suspect a thing and blames himself for the confusion with the alarm. He then hides away from his loved ones – feeling terrible because they’d all kindly sponsored him to complete the race.
With Todd feeling so low, Theo quickly steps in to comfort him. He then lies to everyone on Todd’s behalf, claiming that he missed the marathon due to food poisoning.
“Theo creates a need for himself to support Todd, to tell him: ‘Don’t worry, it’s not your fault’. I think Theo started off as an opportunist but now he’s definitely drifting into the arena of a master manipulator and it’s very, very cruel now,” James Cartwright, who plays Theo, recently told us.

“He’s just completely lost sight of any moral compass, there’s absolutely no moral fibre left in the man. He’s completely driven by his narcissism, and he just cannot now let Todd go.
“He thinks it’s love, he thinks it’s all for the best. He doesn’t see that what he’s doing is wrong, but from the outside, you realise he’s become a monster now. He’s a total monster.”
At the flat, Todd succumbs to Theo’s advances by heading to bed with him – then agrees to get back together.
The ominous scenes pave the way for even bigger episodes later this week, as Theo tries to trick Todd into marrying him.
Coronation Street is working on Todd and Theo’s story with support from Galop, the LGBTQ+ anti-abuse charity. For more information and resources, visit the charity’s website or contact the national helpline on 0800 999 5428.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
