Donegal Gardaí and the PSNI in Derry took part in a cross-border road safety operation at the weekend.

On Saturday night, Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team and Gardaí conducted vehicle checkpoints as a very visible, physical deterrent to anyone thinking about drink or drug driving.

“We’ve been working closely with An Garda Síochána colleagues in recent days, co-ordinating road safety operations between here and County Donegal,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“Drink/drug driving can kill and ruin lives in an instant. It’s reckless. Please don’t risk it.”
