Bad Sisters star Claes Bang has landed a role in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed series. The hugely popular video game franchise will be receiving a live-action adaptation, courtesy of Netflix.
The show was first announced back in 2020, but was officially greenlit last year. Though we don’t know much about the plot or the characters, a number of actors have already joined the substantial cast.
Bang will appear as a series regular alongside Juice’s Nabhaan Rizwan and previously announced stars Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Toby Wallace (Euphoria), Tanzyn Crawford (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Laura Marcus (Bad Education) and Zachary Hart (Slow Horses).

Meanwhile, Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris and Corrado Invernizzi feature in recurring roles, alongside Sandra Guldberg-Kampp, Youssef Kerkour, Mirren Mack, and Louis McCartney.
“Assassin’s Creed is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will,” reads the logline.
“The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.”
According to Tudum, filming has officially begun in Rome, with the series taking place in 64 AD. Assassin’s Creed will tell “an original story set in the heart of the Roman Empire”.

Roberto Patino and David Wiener are wearing multiple hats as creators, showrunners and executive producers, while Emmy Award winner Johan Renck will be directing the show.
“We’ve been fans of Assassin’s Creed since its release in 2007. Every day we work on this show, we come away excited and humbled by the possibilities that Assassin’s Creed opens to us,” Patino and Wiener said in a joint statement.
“Beneath the scope, spectacle, parkour and thrills is a baseline for the most essential kind of human story — about people searching for purpose, struggling with questions of identity and destiny and faith. It is about power and violence and sex and greed and vengeance.
“But more than anything, this is a show about the value of human connection, across cultures, across time. And it’s about what we stand to lose as a species, when those connections break.”
Assassin’s Creed has yet to receive a release date.
