NHS Highland recently transferred the land to Highland Council.
Richard MacDonald, director of estates, facilities and capital planning, said the health board was delighted to be part of the MacKinnon Memorial Hospital Working Group.
He added that the group would be “looking at the provision of healthcare accommodation” as part of the development, as well as exploring other opportunities.
