19 properties searched as gardaí seize €2,000 worth of drugs, e‑scooters and electronic devices in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot raids

Over 100 gardaí were involved in a major search and arrest operation this morning as part of the investigation into the assault on Alexis Lee Campion (44).

The mother-of-two had petrol thrown in her face before being set on fire at the front door of her home in Oak Downs, Clondalkin, shortly after 10am on November 25 and suffered life-altering injuries.

The three suspects, which include an adult teenager, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently being held in garda stations in Dublin.

Ms Campion suffered burns to more than a third of her body following the assault and remains hospitalised with serious injuries.

Detectives believe the woman was attacked moments after opening her front door, when a suspect threw an accelerant into her face and over her body before setting her on fire.

They also suspect that the real target of the attack was a man known to Ms Campion, but that she was instead sprayed with the substance and deliberately set alight.

In a statement issued this evening, gardaí said that Ms Campion continues to receive treatment in hospital for her injuries.

“A Family Liaison Officer is keeping Ms Campion and her family informed of all developments as the investigation progresses,” it said.
