Munster GAA has confirmed the naming of the Munster Senior Football Championship trophy in honour of the late Páidí Ó Sé.

The trophy, named after the Kerry icon, will be presented to the winners of this year’s Munster Senior Football final.

The An Ghaeltacht man was a regular winner in the province and won the Munster title as a player on 11 occasions.

This included him captaining the side in 1985.

Ó Sé’s legacy in the game will live forever.

He passed away in 2012 having won at eight All-Ireland Senior titles to accompany those Munster crowns.

In addition he won four League titles and five All-Stars.

As manager, he led Kerry to All Ireland senior titles in 1997 and 2000.
