A young man who was hospitalised for serious injuries following a single-vehicle collision involving a scrambler bike in Co Clare on Saturday has died.

Shortly after 11:30pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving an electric scrambler on Bóthar Na Luachra, Shannon.

The driver, a man in his early 20s, was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, with serious injuries. He died yesterday.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
