It’s the question that has divided a generation: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

A French reporter with Canal+ brought up the age old debate while speaking with Robert Pattinson and Zendaya for their new movie “The Drama.”
Zendaya declared, “I’m Team Edward all day, let’s go.”
Pattinson pondered for a moment, then laughed and said, “No one’s Team Jacob. That was just a marketing thing.”
The interview then admitted that she was Team Jacob, prompting Pattinson to laugh, “WHAT?” and “That’s crazy.”
Zendaya added, “Yeah, I need to get, you know, the merch. I need to get the whole thing.”
The reporter also noted there’s been a resurgence in “Twilight” in the recent past, to which Pattinson replied, “I know, it’s crazy.”

Pattinson played the brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the movies based off of Stephenie Meyer’s book series, while Taylor Lautner played Jacob Black, a werewolf, both of whom are madly in love with Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart.
It was a breakout role for Pattinson, who reflected on the films in a Variety Actors on Actors interview in 2019.
“I mean, it’s a weird story, ‘Twilight.’ It’s strange how people responded,” he said. “They are very romantic, but at the same time, it’s not like ‘The Notebook’ romantic. ‘The Notebook’ is very, very sweet and heartbreaking and stuff. Twilight is about this guy who finds the one girl he wants to be with and also wants to eat her. Well not eat her, drink her blood, whatever.”

“I thought there were definitely bits that were very romantic,” he continued. “But to me, I thought it was a pretty weird story. and even when I was promoting it, I was pretty open about how strange I thought it was when I was doing it.”
