Irish knitwear is the way to go if you’re after renewable, on-trend fashion

We were fans of Hope Macaulay’s joyful knitwear long before the latest season of The Traitors UK, but after Jade modelled one of her stunning cardigans, we are sure this latest collection will sell out in record time. Led by a family-run team of women, the drops are always in small batches, and made from responsibly sourced materials such as natural, renewable, recycled or organic premium materials. The energy drink

Energy drinks brand CELSIUS recently came on our radar at Dublin’s Battle Cancer, a Hyrox-style fitness event that saw hundreds of teams take on a 90-minute challenge while raising thousands for Irish cancer charities. CELSIUS were there on the day, keeping energy levels high, with new flavours like Kiwi Guava and Raspberry Peach going down particularly well. Each can packs 200mg of caffeine alongside a blend of vitamins — B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and C — without added sugar or preservatives.

Olympian Rhasidat Adeleke has just hopped on board as the brand’s Irish sponsor, too.

The audition

Have a budding scientist or actor in the family? RTÉKIDSjr is looking for children to appear in the new series of Let’s Find Out. Supported by Research Ireland/Taighde Éireann, Let’s Find Out stars real-life scientists Mark Langtry and Amy Hassett as crewmates on the spaceship ‘Curiosity’.
For each episode, the producers are looking for two children aged between five and 10 years and one or two adults (parent or guardian) to feature.

If chosen for filming, the children will feature together, demonstrating a science experiment, and the family will feature together on camera at home and/or another location. Families must be available to film at a location in Cork City on one day over the week of July 13. Get your entries in by Monday, April 6.

The Easter egg hunt

Joe’s Farm in Killeagh, Co Cork, has been transformed for its Easter Trail.

Back for a second year, families can explore the farm as they follow the egg hunt. The trail allows visitors to explore the farm on a set route, with an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Trail will run over four days: March 28 and March 29, and April 3 and 4.

The event

It’s just nine months since Oliver Paul Jewellery opened at the English Market in Cork, and it’s already well established as one of the city’s mainstays. Owner and designer Oliver Healy will mark the launch of his latest collection with an in-store event today at 3.30pm, inviting visitors into the studio to experience the craftsmanship up close. Jewellery will be presented as living art, with sculptural canapés and desserts.
