Dermot Kennedy unveils third album
Notre Dame Stadium, Indiana – home to the ‘Fighting Irish’ college football team – is a massive concrete bowl, and among the most capacious sporting arenas in America. If Dermot Kennedy ever needed a moment to take stock and get a sense of how big he has become, he could do worse than recall the evening last September when he walked onto that Notre Dame stage, the approving roars of 90,000 people stinging his ears.
He was there to join Zach Bryan, the all-conquering country music star who played three sold out Phoenix Park gigs last summer, for a rendition of one of Bryan’s mega-hits. The crowd lapped it up, the Dubliner loving every moment of it.
