Tom Bower seems quite chuffed with his royal seal of disapproval. “Deranged conspiracy and melodrama” — Meghan and Harry’s take on his new book about them — will surely make an interesting blurb quote for the paperback of Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family.

For Bower it’s grist to the publicity mill. The former BBC journalist has forged a career as this generation’s Kitty Kelley, fighting the likes of Richard Branson and Robert Maxwell through the courts. A peeved duke and duchess is all in a day’s work.
