Michael Langan has long been one of Donegal’s most important players, but according to Marc Ó Sé, that importance has now reached another level.
Speaking on The View after Donegal’s emphatic Division 1 final win over Kerry, Ó Sé suggested Langan’s latest performance will change how teams approach him for the rest of the season.
The St Michael’s man was outstanding in Sunday’s win, scoring 0-6 and dominating around the middle with his usual blend of aerial ability and attacking threat.
It was the latest reminder of just how influential Langan has become for Donegal.

Since making his inter-county debut in 2017, he has built an impressive CV, four Ulster titles, an All-Star, and a growing reputation as one of the most complete midfielders in the game. His ability to field kickouts, break forward, and land scores from distance has made him a constant outlet for Donegal.
Marc Ó Sé Says Donegal Star Is A ‘Marked Man’ After League Final Display
And after this latest display, Marc Ó Sé believes opposition teams will have little choice but to give him special attention.
If you look at last year’s final, you could say Donegal were probably unlucky in that Thompson got injured after 20 minutes.
But that said, he was awesome today.
We’re talking about Michael Murphy now being a marked man, I think in the championship going forward Michael Langan is going to be a marked man after yesterday’s performance.
Everybody’s going to have to nullify his threat.
For years, Michael Murphy has been the player opposition defences have built their plans around.
Now, it appears Donegal may have another towering Michael that needs to be taken care of.
If teams are forced to divide their attention between Murphy, Langan and Donegal’s other potent attackers, it only increases the attacking options available to Donegal, and makes them an even more dangerous proposition heading into the championship.
