We’re getting the first look at Alice and Steve, Hulu’s upcoming comedy series starring Jemaine Clement and Nicola, from Baby Reindeer producer Clerkenwell Films.
Created and written by Sophie Goodhart (Sex Education), in the six-part series, Alice (Walker) is devastated when her best friend Steve (Clement) starts dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith). She’s going to lose her best friend and her daughter in one fell swoop. Alice tries everything she can to end the relationship. Unfortunately for her, Steve’s more than ready for the attack, and what begins as a perfect friendship, devolves into an all-out feud.
A hilarious, messy, and complicated exploration of friendship, love, and revenge, Alice and Steve is described as an anti-romantic comedy that asks the question, how far would you go for love – or revenge? Will Alice forgive Steve? Will Steve and Izzy make a relationship work? Amongst all the questions hanging in the balance, one thing is certain; their lives will never be the same again, per Hulu.
Alice and Steve will world premiere in competition at CanneSeries 2026 ahead of a summer debut on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for subscribers in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
In addition to Clement and Walker, Joel Fry (Cruella), and Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz) star, along with Tyrese Eaton-Dyce, Marcia Warren, Eilidh Fisher and Ebony Aboagye in the ensemble cast.
Alice and Steve is directed by BAFTA-winner Tom Kingsley (Stath Lets Flats). Petra Fried, Andy Baker, and Wim De Greef Executive Produce for Clerkenwell Films and the series is produced by Fran du Pille. The Hulu Original series was commissioned by Lee Mason, Vice President, Scripted, Disney+ EMEA.
