A teenager appeared before Tipperary District Court, sitting in Thurles, on Wednesday morning, charged with the murder of a man in Co Tipperary last year.
The 16-year-old cannot be identified because he is a juvenile.
A man in his 30s, Stephen Clarke, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following an alleged assault in the Castlecranna area, which is located about 12km from Nenagh, on March 10th, 2025.
He subsequently died in hospital on the morning of April 25th.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution of the teenager was given to the court by Det Garda Padraig O’Leary. He said the accused made no reply when the charge was put to him on Wednesday morning.
Judge Marie Keane said she did not have jurisdiction to grant bail on a charge of murder.
The court heard a place for the boy was available at Oberstown Children Detention Campus in Dublin. He was remanded to Oberstown to appear before Nenagh District Court via video-link on Wednesday, April 8th.
