IndiGo has announced a revision of fuel charges across its domestic and international network for all bookings made from 0001 hrs on April 2, 2026, citing a sharp increase in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices.

According to IATA’s Jet Fuel Monitor, fuel prices in the region have risen by over 130 per cent month-on-month. In response, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have implemented a partial and staggered increase of 25 per cent for domestic operations.

In a statement, IndiGo said, “We are thankful to the Government for timely intervention, without which April 2026 fuel cost increases would have severely impacted the affordability of domestic air travel.”

For domestic routes, revised fuel charges per sector will range from ₹275 for sectors up to 500 km, ₹400 for 501–1,000 km, ₹600 for 1,001–1,500 km, ₹800 for 1,501–2,000 km, and ₹950 for sectors above 2,000 km.

For international operations, the airline noted that ATF prices have more than doubled in the past month. Revised fuel charges per sector will range from ₹900 for short-haul routes within the Indian subcontinent (up to 500 km), ₹2,500 for longer subcontinent routes, ₹3,000–₹5,000 for GCC and Middle East routes, ₹3,500–₹5,000 for Southeast Asia and China, ₹5,000 for Africa, ₹7,500 for Greece and Turkey, and up to ₹10,000 for the UK and other parts of Europe.

IndiGo stated, “Although fully offsetting the fuel price increase would require substantial fare revisions, we have passed on a relatively smaller amount to customers, keeping in mind the consequential burden on them.”
