Singer Sinéad O’Connor preferred to keep a polite distance from zealous fans
Sinéad O’Connor sat opposite me on the phone to her manager. “Yeah tell them it’s not going to be possible, fire regulations yada yada …”
The “them” was a contingent of women with shaved heads – hardcore fans – who’d pilgrimaged from Germany for a meet-and-greet with their Irish goddess. Said goddess didn’t feel emotionally up to meeting this band of mini-mes, and part of me couldn’t blame her.
