Some residents of a rural community in south Kilkenny have joined forces to oppose the proposed construction of eight “mega” wind turbines in the area, with some of the turbines expected to stand as close as about 700 metres from family homes.
Plans for the proposed Curraghmore Windfarm by Empower Renewables would see eight wind turbines constructed on elevated land at Mount Alto and along the ridge adjacent to the South Leinster Way, overlooking the picturesque Co Kilkenny village of Inistioge, home to over 1,000 residents and over 280 homes and businesses.
