A Wicklow man who spent four and a half years on dialysis has marked a remarkable turnaround, after being named Ireland’s Player of the Tournament at an inaugural international football tournament for organ transplant recipients.

Baltinglass man Mark Moore proudly lined out in goal for the Transplant Sport Ireland team at the Tri-Nations Gift of Life tournament at the AUL Complex in Dublin, a three-nation competition bringing together transplant recipients from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland in a celebration of the life-changing impact of organ donation.
