Maura Higgins has finally broken her silence surrounding rumours that she’ll be the next Bachelorette.

The reality dating show, which follows a celebrity bachelorette date various men over a number of weeks, with the last bachelor standing being the one that she’ll choose to marry.

The latest series of The Bachelorette was set to star Taylor Frankie Paul of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but the series was unceremoniously dumped following a domestic violence scandal involving Taylor and her then-boyfriend in 2023.

With the ‘MomTok’ influencer no longer being the focus of the 22nd season of The Bachelorette, rumours swirled that Maura — who became a fan favourite across the pond after her stint on The Traitors USA — would be the next Bachelorette.

Maura kept mum on the potential rose ceremonies in her future until Friday afternoon during an Instagram Q&A, when someone asked her a line that’s become synonymous with the dating show.

‘Maura will you accept this rose… or are you more inclined to be the one handing them out?’ the person asked — and while Maura deflected the question as to if she’ll be going on the show, we didn’t hear a no.

‘I swear my whole Q&A is Bachelorette questions right now,’ Maura wrote alongside a laughing emoji. ‘You’re all too funny.’

While Maura hasn’t confirmed or denied if she’ll be the next bachelorette, betting company Ladbrokes has said that she’s an eligible bachelorette for the 22nd season.

‘Maura is breaking America for sure,’ Ladbrokes spokesperson Nicola McGeady said. ‘She is a wanted woman, and she seems the most eligible Bachelorette in the US right now.’

As well as reaching the final of The Traitors in the US, Maura isn’t a stranger to US screens — having hosted Love Island USA: Aftersun, after she broke out onto our screens in the UK version of the dating show in 2019.

Taylor Frankie Paul, who rose to fame on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was set to be the 22nd Bachelorette with her season having been filmed earlier this year.

However, after a video of her and an ex-boyfriend in a domestic dispute emerged, the season was cancelled last month.
