Coleen Rooney is determined to make her 40th birthday one for the books. The wife of former football star Wayne Rooney is marking the milestone this Easter weekend at her £20 million Cheshire mansion, which was bursting at the seams with guests on Friday, who joined the Scouse star in style.
A whole host of WAGs made it onto the guest list, enjoying everything the Rooneys had laid on, as a massive marquee and a gold ’40’ sign were spotted being put up on the sprawling lawn of Coleen’s impressive estate.
Speaking to The Mirror ahead of the Good Friday celebration, which was attended by 50 of Coleen’s nearest and dearest, a close friend of the mother-of-four revealed she loves to let her hair down and will be up on the dance floor throughout the festivities, reports the Mirror.
“Coleen parties like a good northern lass,” they said. “She’s a very normal girl at the end of the day – she just likes a good time and having fun. It will be epic.”
Meanwhile, Coleen said: “I’m looking forward to it, I love a birthday and a celebration. I have decided to enjoy a couple of different celebrations with family and friends over the year, and with my birthday falling over Easter weekend, some friends are away – so any opportunity to extend the celebrations…”

WAG guests
Wayne’s footballer mates, including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher, were all on the guest list for the lavish celebration, alongside Coleen’s WAG pals including Annie Kilner and Abbey Clancy. Among the celebrities who also descended on the mansion for the Friday night party were English former footballer Phil Jones and his wife Kaya Hall.
Meanwhile, fellow WAG and friend Tanya Bardsley, 44, showcased her new hair extensions on her Instagram Stories ahead of the glamorous event. She also posted a heartfelt tribute to Coleen, which read: “Happy birthday to this gorgeous icon, can’t wait to celebrate with you later.”
Helicopter arrival
Former ireland international and Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson arrived alongside another guest in a black car, while Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy was also spotted at the gathering.

And one A-lister made quite the entrance, with a helicopter seen touching down at Coleen and Wayne’s £20million Cheshire residence.
Hundreds of bottles of champagne
Coleen reportedly had hundreds of bottles of champagne on ice for the bank holiday weekend marking her milestone birthday.
Caterers and staff will undoubtedly have kept the festivities running seamlessly, with insiders revealing that no expense has been spared for the birthday girl.
What the birthday girl wore
Coleen can be spotted in one rare photo from the celebration, looking stunning in a floor-length lilac gown as she welcomed guests Annie Kilner and Kaya Hall at the entrance to the marquee.
Sporting a small silver clutch bag, with her hair swept up in an elegant updo, the I’m A Celebrity star exuded glamour as she marked her special occasion in style.
Pastel colour theme
Complementing her lilac dress, Coleen opted for a pastel colour scheme for the festivities, with pink and white balloons adorning the marquee alongside a beautiful pink floral arrangement.
The lighting proved particularly flattering as guests mingled enthusiastically, all arriving with gifts in hand for their host.

Guests wearing trainers
While the women at the celebration looked suitably sophisticated, one of Coleen’s guests struck a far more laid-back note, choosing to don a pair of black and white Adidas trainers for the star-studded affair.
A-list performer
Coleen’s husband, Wayne, pulled out all the stops for his childhood sweetheart on her big day, reportedly arranging for a major star to take to the stage.
While it remains unclear who was set to perform, it had been claimed that ‘no expense has been spared’ on the ‘Mariah Carey level singer’, with speculation running wild that Irish group Westlife had been lined up to headline.
Wayne on the mic
In addition to organising a surprise performance from a megastar, Wayne was also reportedly eager to treat guests to a couple of songs himself. Speaking to The Sun ahead of the celebration, an insider revealed: “Coleen loves a good knees-up. She can afford a lovely lifestyle and everything at the party will be classy and beautifully done. But for her, plenty of booze, good music and her family is all she will want.
“There’s going to be live music and you can guarantee Wayne will be getting up on the microphone. He loves to sing and will be keen to give everyone a tune or two.”

Phone ban
Security will be particularly stringent, with attending guests placed under a strict no-phone policy. “She wants to have a good time without anyone filming anything like Wayne falling on the dance floor or being drunk,” an insider told the Mirror.
“It’s going be very high protection when it comes to this. It’s a private party. There’s no one that can party like Coleen.”
Banned from the bash!
Naturally, the guest list comprises a number of well-known faces – however, several people won’t be receiving an invitation to Coleen’s milestone occasion.

The Vardys – Rebekah and her husband Jamie – will unsurprisingly not be in attendance, given the Vardys and Rooneys’ lengthy Wagatha Christie court case.
“He wants Rio Ferdinand there, if he can get over from Portugal. There are a few players that might not be able to make it, but it is going to be full of people that have been there for them: old football teammates, friends in football, family members and close friends,” our source reveals.
“But certainly the Vardys won’t be invited and there will be a heavy security presence.”
