As reported by The Mirror, 7-year-old Louis welcomed his grandfather as he entered St. George’s Chapel, alongside his siblings and parents. The little boy greeted him with a “Happy Easter.” According to the outlet, Charles was “deeply moved” by the gesture, inspiring a tender pat on the boy’s cheek.
It was “an uncommon and affectionate public gesture,” as reported by the outlet. The moment concluded with a sweet smile from Louis, acknowledging his grandfather’s gesture.
A body language expert spoke to the outlet, sharing that the gesture was “a very unusual reward ritual from Charles, showing his softer side as a doting granddad.”

King Charles’ relationship with his grandkids
King Charles is the grandfather of five kids through his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. He’s the grandparent of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.
In interviews, he’s discussed the change that comes with being a grandparent and how it represents a different stage in life. “The great thing is to encourage them, show them things to take their interest. “Charles is a warm and caring guy, but he comes even more alive around little George. He loves spending time with him.” He’s passed down his love for the outdoors to his grandkids, describing George in 2015 as “one of those characters who naturally, instinctively likes to be outside. I’m intrigued to see if it lasts. He loves being outside, which is encouraging.”
